It’s Saturday morning and I’m behind. I “owe” you fans of SC^2 two blogs from the last two Saturday sessions, which, btw, were brilliant. I’ll get it all into a blog soon…promise.
Thing is – I’m on Draft #2 of my book, “Yo Miz,” about my experience teaching in 25 Manhattan public high schools in one wacky year. It’s morning. I’m all excited about a new story idea…so fans…just come on down today if you can and forgive me for falling a bit behind. (My other excuse: Two Sundays ago, I went to a barrel racing event and got excited watching 12 year olds run their horses like crazy around barrels.
Later that day, inspired by the moxie of these pre teens, I saddled up Sophie, my horse, and rode her around cones, imitating barrels. All went well until I pushed her a bit hard – she’s still a bit green- not completely trained. She wasn’t comfortable with my prodding so, in a display of her will, she bucked. I stayed on but then my little quarter horse stopped short and I fell off. Hit the ground hard. Nothing’s broken – including Sophie -but I wasn’t up for blogging for a few days. Dealing with the pain, I attempted to practice integrated medicine. At one point I had five Arnica drops melting under my tongue as I swallowed an Advil. I’m much better. Thank you for your cards and flowers.)
In the meantime. Brewster and I did a nice radio spot with Valerie on Monday May 6. If you’d like to listen, go to http://www.wjffradio.org > audio archives> Making Waves > May 6, 2013. Brewster sounds great. I need to talk slower , less and play more music.
Hope to you at the Distillery later today.
